Leaf by Oscar started out as a small boutique project from "Leaf and Bean", a tiny store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The owner of this shop is the man after whom this cigar is named: Jim Robinson, aka "Island Jim". This cigar is both fascinating and unique. It consists of rich Honduran filler and binder tobacco with a Maduro Wrapper from Jalapa / Nicaragua.The cigar comes in typical Leaf by Oscar style. With a “ragged” unfinished end of the fire and a very interesting multi-layered “torpedo tip”.

Despite its sturdy appearance, the Island Jim is a perfectly rolled and immaculately finished cigar. It has a huge volume of smoke, a light draft and a perfect burn. Starting with rich notes of earth and nuts, the complexity increases as the cigar progresses. Subtle notes of white pepper, nutmeg and black cherry are added during the course of the smoke. A strong, creamy tobacco note with every puff that ends with a sweet, chocolaty finish and a hint of caramel. The unusual packaging and brand name could be a little misleading. Island Jim is a very serious cigar for serious cigar connoisseurs. Dark rum, a single malt scotch or a good port wine go well with the Island Jim. Smoking the Island Jim # 2 is almost like smoking two cigars in a row. It is a rare experience that one simply has to enjoy for oneself to fully understand it. Island Jim will no doubt become the favorite cigar of many who dare to try it.
