Partagas

If there is one particularly famous cigar factory in Havana, then it has to be the Fabrica de Partagas, which was established by Don Jaime Partagas in 1845, and is located directly behind the Capitol building, in the heart of the city of Havana. One recognizes a Partagas immediately by it’s heavy, earthy and honey-sweet flavor. The character of this cigar’s tobacco blend is founded in a special selection of leaves from the famous Vuelta Abajo, the region in Cuba where the best tobacco in the world is cultivated. The ultimate in cigar tobacco!

One can safely call the Lusitania the “big boss” of Partagas, a Double Corona,  which along with it’s slightly oily-sweet taste also suggests the spicy flavor of coffee and cocoa. Despite is large size, the Lusitania is rather mild for a Partagas. The most well-known of the Partagas are the D-series, the E-series and the P-series with their bestsellers Partagas serie D No. 4, Partagas serie E No. 2 and Partagas serie P No. 2, a full-bodied torpedo-size cigar. A special case are the Partagas Salomones which are only available through a limited number of specialists.
