J.C. Newman Yagua

The Yagua by J.C. Newman is a rustic cigar that draws inspiration from the Newman family heritage. It is made like it was in the 1940s when the family still lived in Cuba. Without troughs or presses and with the tobacco still moist, the cigars are rolled, tightly bundled and wrapped in a palm leaf (yagua). Since the cigars are under-fermented due to this manufacturing process, they are aged for at least a year after rolling.

This particular cigar uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and tobacco from Nicaragua for the binder and filler.

The mild to medium-strength Yagua cigars are delivered as a bundle of 20, wrapped in a palm leaf in special wooden boxes. Every cigar has a unique shape.
